John Caldwell is Managing Director of both Paradigm Properties and Paradigm Capital Advisors where he is responsible for asset management activities and oversight of the companies’ portfolios. He also participates in the underwriting of new investments.
Mr. Caldwell has over 27 years of real estate experience, working throughout the nation in a number of markets from Boston to Los Angeles. His experience ranges from managing large distressed properties and real estate loan portfolios to leading a commercial brokerage company as well as a commercial property management company.
Prior to joining Paradigm Properties, Mr. Caldwell participated in the acquisition and directed the management of office, retail, and hotel assets for Biltmore Holdings, a Phoenix-based commercial real estate company, and was part of a team that successfully bid on a Resolution Trust Corporation contract that ultimately managed over $2 billion in real estate loans. Under this contract, Mr. Caldwell led a workout group that managed the foreclosure, restructure, modification, and disposition of approximately $250 million of distressed real estate loans in the southwest and west coast regions.
Mr. Caldwell previously worked with Spaulding and Slye, a regional development and real estate services firm, over a ten-year period in a variety of capacities related to leasing and property management.
Mr. Caldwell is a board member of Boston Metro's Communities United, Inc., a board member of Camps Newfound and Owatonna in Harrison, Maine, a manager of Head Start facilities in the Boston area, and is a member of NAIOP, Massachusetts Chapter.
He holds a B.A. from Principia College.
